Upper Twin West
About this site
Upper Twin West is a free trailhead camping site in Flathead National Forest, located 49 miles south of Hungry Horse on East Side Reservoir Road #38, next to Upper Twin Creek and 300 feet from the South Fork Flathead River at 3,700 feet elevation. It offers 3 parking spots next to the road in a second-growth stand of trees, used for accessing Upper Twin Trail #237 and as a raft take-out point. Maintained May 15 through November 30 (as road conditions allow), with a 16-day stay limit and no fees. Additional Info: Road access from Highway 2 via Hungry Horse and Martin City; note winter wildlife closure on Road #38 between mileposts 37-53 from December 1 to May 14.
