Upper Grays Meadow Campground is the upper loop of Grays Meadow Campground in Inyo National Forest. It offers shaded sites in an oak grove along Independence Creek in Onion Valley, with views of Mt. Whitney. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and bear-proof lockers at each site. Firewood available for purchase from host. Popular for hiking, fishing, and backpacking near John Muir Wilderness. Open mid-May to mid-October. Additional Info: 52 total sites across upper (1-35) and lower (36-52) loops. Bear activity requires food storage in lockers.
