Upper Falls Campsite

Upper Falls Campsite is a backcountry campsite within South Mountains State Park near Casar, North Carolina. The site requires a 1.4-mile hike from the Jacob Fork parking area. The area is surrounded by forested terrain with a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees, with temperatures ranging from the 30s in winter to the 80s in summer. Nearby attractions include South Mountains State Park hiking trails and waterfalls. Fees and permits are required for all overnight stays. Backcountry campers must make a reservation online or by calling 1-877-722-6762 before setting up at a campsite. Same-day reservations are available until 9:00pm. Upon arrival, use self-check-in through the Reserve America Camping App. Pets are allowed on a leash no longer than six feet. Quiet hours are enforced. Building fires in undesignated areas is prohibited. Amenities include picnic tables, firewood, phone service, drinking water, and toilets.
