Upper Dean Cow

Upper Dean Cow is a remote trail camp located in Carson National Forest in northern New Mexico at 8,254 feet elevation. It is part of Philmont Scout Ranch and is accessed exclusively by hiking. The camp offers six to eleven primitive campsites with vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings. No potable water is available; visitors must bring their own supply. The area features breathtaking views of surrounding mountains and valleys, with nearby hiking trails, fishing spots, and historic sites. The best time to visit is May to October when temperatures range from the mid-50s to mid-70s.
