Upper Campbell Reservoir Campground is a free public recreation site offering 21 formal campsites with pit toilets, picnic tables, and fire pits. It features trails, a beach area, and an informal boat launch suitable for small boats with 4x4 vehicles. The site provides excellent fishing for rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and Dolly Varden char, with views of the Campbell River watershed and Strathcona Provincial Park mountains. Rules include a maximum of 14 overnight visits per year, quiet hours from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., no saving sites, and alcohol permitted only in campsites. Additional Info: Opened in February 2021 to replace the closed Strathcona Dam Campground. Managed by BC Hydro in partnership with Mosaic Forest Management. No potable water, hookups, showers, or dump station available.
