Upper Buck Creek Forest Camp
About this site
Upper Buck Creek is a rustic destination for seclusion in a high mountain setting, located 35 minutes southwest of Silver Lake, Oregon. Ponderosa pine, lodgepole pine trees, aspen, and willows co-exist with open meadows and marshland along Buck Creek. This quiet forest camp is an excellent place to relax, fish, walk along the creek, and enjoy nature in the Fremont-Winema National Forest. The campground features five campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Two vault toilets serve the campground. There are no garbage receptacles, so visitors must pack out all trash. No potable water is available, so campers should bring an adequate supply. Recreational opportunities include fishing in Buck Creek, wildlife viewing, plant identification, picnicking, and hiking. Vehicles must be parked at least 200 feet from the creek's edge to protect riparian habitat. Additional Info: Open year-round. From October 16 through May 14, the campground operates with reduced services. First-come, first-served with no reservations. No fees required.
