About this site

Upper Bake Oven is one of four named dispersed camping zones within the South Fork Tieton Dispersed Camping area in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Located at 3,300 feet elevation near Rimrock Lake along Forest Service Road 1000, the area accommodates both RV and tent camping in a forested riverside setting. Outhouses are available during summer months. No potable water is available; campers must treat or filter water from the nearby South Fork Tieton River. There are no trash receptacles, so visitors must practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out all garbage. The area operates first-come, first-served with an $8 per night per vehicle fee. Senior and Access pass holders receive a 50% discount. Access is via Highway 12 to Forest Service Road 1200, then Forest Service Road 1000. Forest Service roads are typically closed by snow during winter months. The location provides access to day hiking opportunities and proximity to the South Fork Tieton Trail.
