Union Reservoir West Campground
About this site
Union West Campground is located adjacent to Union Reservoir in Stanislaus National Forest at over 8,000 feet elevation. The reservoir is set in a granite basin with expansive mountain views and contains numerous small islands. The campground is nestled in red fir and lodgepole pine forest. The 18-site campground offers vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and bear boxes. Potable water is available seasonally via spigot supplied from a well. Many campsites offer water views or waterfront access. The campground is open early June through late September and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are required via Recreation.gov. Check-in is 2:00 p.m. and check-out is 12:00 p.m. Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. A small primitive boat launch is available for hand-launch watercraft.
