Umtanum Campground
About this site
Umtanum Campground is one of four BLM-managed recreation sites in the Yakima River Canyon along the Yakima River State Scenic Byway (Highway 821). It offers 6 developed drive-in campsites for tents and RVs, plus 12 additional walk-in tent sites. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, dumpster for garbage, and a fee station. No hookups or potable water are available. The site features river access, non-motorized boat ramp, trails, and watchable wildlife areas. Open year-round. Additional Info: Overnight fee is $15 per night. Reservations accepted May 1 - Sept 15 via Recreation.gov; first-come first-served otherwise with self-pay station. Maximum 7-day stay. Fires only in provided metal rings.
