About this site
Free primitive camping is available at two designated spots along the service road on the west side of the Equalization Channel, which connects the two reservoirs at Twin Buttes Recreation Area. A permit is required: persons over 17 need a Limited Public Use Permit ($12/year) or Annual Public Hunting Permit from Texas Parks & Wildlife. Camping is first-come, first-served, restricted to shoreline areas adjacent to designated roads. Amenities include trash cans. Local law enforcement checks for permits. Fishing and hunting under TPWD; facilities under City of San Angelo Parks & Recreation.
