Tunnel Mountain Village I is genuinely one of my favourite places to stay in Banff. They really look after you there the staff keep everything clean, organized, and welcoming, and the whole campground feels well‑run without losing that classic mountain vibe. The amenities are a huge part of why I love it. They provide unlimited free firewood, and you can take as much as you need, anytime. The washrooms have running hot and cold water, plus heating during cold weather, which is a lifesaver after a long day outside. The showers are clean, warm, and reliable, and everything is maintained to a high standard. Another big plus is the location. It’s super close to Banff town, so if you need to run into town for ice, supplies, or a quick bite, it’s only a few minutes away. There is one small downside like most of Banff, you’ll hear the trans canada train horn once in a while. It’s not frequent, but if you’re a very light sleeper, it’s something to be aware of. For me, it doesn’t take away from how great the campground is. Overall, Tunnel Mountain Village I is the perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and nature, and I absolutely love staying there.
