About this site
Travers Dam campground is in Travers Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area, 18 km south of Vulcan on Hwy. 23, 32 km east on Hwy. 529, and south on Range Rd. 205A. Experience the vastness of the prairie and camp alongside the reservoir. Sites in open grasslands have expansive views in all directions. Canoe, sail or fish on the reservoir, and enjoy the endless skies. You are expected to bring your own potable drinking water. Government of Alberta regulations require that water from pumps/taps like the one located here NOT be used for drinking, cooking or washing (including brushing teeth and washing dishes). Water from the pump/tap onsite can only be used for purposes like putting out a campfire. Additional Info: 32 unserviced campsites. Campground typically opens April 23 weather permitting. Located at the southeast end of Travers Reservoir.
