Tower Hill State Park Campground
About this site
Tower Hill State Park Campground is a small, intimate camping destination with 10 tent-only sites nestled in a 77-acre park along the Wisconsin River near Spring Green. All campsites are non-electric and designed for tent camping. The campground provides vault toilets and a water source for jug filling, available from Memorial Day weekend through October 1 depending on weather conditions. No showers or flush toilets are available on-site. Firewood is sold at the park during the operating season, and visitors are reminded not to bring firewood from outside areas due to tree pest concerns. Beyond camping, the park offers two miles of hiking trails leading to the historic shot tower and down to the Wisconsin River. The wooden shaft and smelter house, originally built in 1831, have been restored with exhibits showing how lead shot was manufactured in the mid-1800s. Bluff trails provide challenging terrain and panoramic river views. A picnic area with shelter and canoe landing are also available for visitor use. Additional Info: The campground operates seasonally and requires reservations for all sites, which can be made up to 11 months in advance through the Wisconsin State Park System. Seven of the ten campsites overlook the water.
