Tool Box Springs Yellow Post Sites are primitive camping spots marked by yellow posts in San Bernardino National Forest. Approximately 5-16 sites scattered across the area at around 6,050 ft elevation near Thomas Mountain, offering privacy and seclusion. First-come, first-served, free camping with metal fire rings at each site. Vault toilets (pit toilets) available near the beginning of the camping area, trash cans nearby. No water, picnic tables, electricity, or other developed facilities. Campers must bring all supplies including water. Cell service spotty. Suitable for tents and small RVs; sites have limited level ground. Campfire permit required; subject to fire restrictions. 14-day camping limit. 8 persons maximum per site. Additional Info: Located off Pyramid Peak Road near Highway 74, close to Lake Hemet and Idyllwild.
