About this site
Thunder Lake Stock Campsite is located south of the trail and east of Thunder Lake and the Patrol Cabin in Rocky Mountain National Park's Wild Basin area. Access is via hike from Wild Basin Trailhead (approximately 6.8 miles, 2100 ft elevation gain). Camp in designated stock site only. Party size limited to 6 people and 8 stock at individual stock sites. Campfires prohibited; use portable stoves only. Bear-resistant food storage required April 1 through October 31. Trails to sites marked by red arrowheads on trees and silver metal arrowhead at site. Additional Info: Accessible only by foot or stock; no vehicle access.
