Thrasher Cove Campsite
About this site
Thrasher Cove is the first or last campsite on the West Coast Trail, located approximately 5 kilometres from the Gordon River trailhead and 8 kilometres from Camper Bay. The site is accessed via a steep 1-kilometre-long hiking trail from the main West Coast Trail. The cove features fine sand beaches and is situated within Port San Juan, offering calmer and warmer water suitable for swimming. The campsite can become crowded with limited sand space for tents, though small forest sites are also available. Campers should pitch tents well above the high tide line. The site offers views across the bay toward Port Renfrew but limited wilderness isolation due to proximity to civilization.
