Thorpe Park Campground overlooks Lake Catherine, which provides good bass and bluegill fishing. The lake is restricted to electric and non-motorized boats. The campground has 13 electric sites with water hookups and 2 primitive campsites without hookups. The park features a wetland popular with waterfowl hunters, oak-hickory savanna, prairie areas, and is open to public hunting in season (with restrictions). Amenities include drinking water, pit toilets, picnic tables, grills, and an open shelter. A rental cabin is available along the lake. Additional Info: Located at 34496 110th Ave, Forest City, IA. Electric sites: $12/night. Non-electric sites: $8/night. Campground typically opens May 1st. Boating allowed with electric motors only. Playground area present.
