Yellow Post Site 6 is a primitive, free camping site within the Thomas Hunting Grounds Yellow Post Sites cluster in San Bernardino National Forest at approximately 5,791 feet elevation near Idyllwild, CA. The site is accessed via unpaved forest road 1N12 (high-clearance or 4WD vehicles recommended). Each site accommodates up to 8 people and 2 vehicles and includes only a metal fire ring; no water, restrooms, picnic tables, or trash containers are provided. Campers must pack out all waste and bring their own water. Camping is first-come, first-served with a 14-day limit. Campfire permits are required and may not be allowed during fire restriction periods. Contact Mill Creek Ranger Station at 909-382-2882 for current road and fire restriction information.
