Telephone Canyon #2 Additional Info: Telephone Canyon 2 (TC-2) is a primitive roadside campsite in Big Bend National Park, located at the end of a 0.25-mile access road off Old Ore Road (14 miles from the southern end or 12.4 miles from the northern end). It accommodates 2 vehicles (no trailers), up to 12 people, and no horses. The site offers nice views of the Deadhorse Mountains and limestone cliffs, solitude, and a small flat gravel space next to the vehicle, but has no shade, toilets, water, or other amenities. Access requires high-clearance 4WD due to rocky, rough, rutted conditions. A backcountry permit is required, available up to 24 hours in advance at Panther Junction or Chisos Basin Visitor Centers. Generators are prohibited.
