Taylor Cabin Line Camp

Taylor Cabin Line Camp is a historic backcountry camping area in Sycamore Canyon Wilderness within the Coconino National Forest, approximately 30 miles south of Flagstaff, Arizona. The cabin itself, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was originally constructed in the early 1830s as a line camp for cattle ranching operations and was rebuilt in the early 1930s. It is accessed via hiking trails, with the primary route being approximately 1.5 miles from the trailhead via the Sycamore Basin Trail or by boulder hopping along the creek bed. The area features excellent campsites on both sides of Sycamore Creek within the inner canyon. The cabin provides shelter in a remote wilderness setting and is used extensively by backpackers and horseback riders, particularly during winter months.
