Tail Race Campground
About this site
The Tail Race Campground features three campsites with fire rings and a vault toilet. This campground is wedged between Fontenelle Reservoir and Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge, and so makes a fantastic site for birding, fishing, or non-motorized water sports. Historically, this area was a gathering place for trappers during their annual rendezvous, and the modern day explorer can still see the lure of such a rich and welcoming area. Additional Info: Tail Race Campground is a minimally developed Bureau of Land Management camping area located just south of Fontenelle Reservoir along the east side of the Green River. Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. No advance reservations accepted. Managed jointly through an interagency agreement between the BLM Kemmerer Field Office and the Bureau of Reclamation Provo Area Office.
