Sweetin River Recreation Site
About this site
A beautiful riverside site in semi-open mature forest on the Kispiox River at the Sweetin River/Kispiox River confluence. The Kispiox River is one of the most productive salmon and steelhead rivers in the area and the Kispiox Valley has abundant wildlife, consequently this site can be popular with hunters and anglers, especially in the fall. This site can be a good put in location for those experienced in river travel and wanting to raft/paddle/drift the river downstream. There is a beautiful First Nations carved archway and totems at the entrance to the site as well as a gated/private cabin along the access road to the site, the campsites beyond are open for public use. There are 3 campsites, 1 outhouse and a nice gravel beach area to enjoy the rivers! Please be sure to purchase a fishing licence and consult the BC Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis for limits, special regulations and closures: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/sports-recreation-arts-and-culture/outdoor-recreation/fishing-and-hunting/freshwater-fishing/region_6_skeena.pdf Also, be sure to check the DFO non-tidal salmon limits, openings and closures: https://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/bc-zones-cb-eng.html
