Sunset State Beach Campground is a year-round destination on a bluff above Monterey Bay, featuring approximately 90 campsites across three loops: South Camp (sites 1-37), Pine Hollow Camp (sites 38-61), and Dunes Camp. Sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 31 feet, with parking spurs 20-31 feet long, picnic tables, fire rings, and space for up to 8 people and 3 vehicles (one primary included in fee). Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, and a dump station ($10 fee). No RV hookups or potable water fill-up for tanks. Pets allowed in campground on leash (not on beach). Generators 10am-8pm. Group and hike/bike sites available. Additional Info: Year-round operation with reservations required. Beach access for picnicking, but swimming hazardous due to rip currents. Protected snowy plover habitat.
