overnight shelter located within one mile of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail and coincident Long Trail Additional Info: Stratton View Shelter is a hike-in shelter on the northwest side of Stratton Pond in Green Mountain National Forest. The shelter was completed in August 2023 and features post and beam construction with wooden pegs. It is maintained by the Green Mountain Club and available on a first-come, first-served basis. A $5 per person per night fee is collected by a caretaker during summer months. Designated tent sites are available around the shelter. Camping is restricted to designated sites only due to heavy use and environmental protection of the pond's ecosystem and shoreline.
