Stone Church Horse Campground
About this site
Stone Church Horse Campground is a dedicated equestrian facility in the Athens Unit of Wayne National Forest, named for nearby ruins of an old stone church. It offers 10 sites, each with a 45-foot by 15-foot parking space, covered paddock for horses, fire pit, grill, and tent pad. Two sites are fully accessible for people with disabilities. Vault toilets and stock water for horses are available; no potable water or showers on-site. The adjacent Stone Church Horse Trail System provides 21 miles of trails. The campground operates seasonally, with horse trails typically closed mid-December through mid-April. Additional Info: Sites accommodate tents and small RVs/trailers up to 45 feet.
