Starvation Lake Recreation Site
About this site
Starvation Lake is a small, forested campsite with a long, rough, brushy and narrow access road. Access road may not be suitable for RV's/trailers. Also known as Sucker Lake, legend has it the lake got it's name from a group of miners that got stranded for a long duration here many years ago. There are two campsites and a small boat launch. The area is popular for hunting and fishing, with close proximity to Babine Lake and River. The lake predominantly has rainbow trout. The site is user maintained, please pack out what you pack in! The road is often busy with logging traffic, a VHF radio with Resource Road channels is recommended for travel here. Please be sure to purchase a fishing licence and consult the BC Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis for limits, special regulations and closures: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/sports-recreation-arts-and-culture/outdoor-recreation/fishing-and-hunting/freshwater-fishing/region_6_skeena.pdf Also if fishing on the Babine River, be sure to check the DFO non-tidal salmon limits, openings and closures: https://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/bc-zones-cb-eng.html
