Spider Meadows is a popular backpacking destination in the Glacier Peak Wilderness, reached by a 5.5-mile hike from the Phelps Creek trailhead with 1,900 feet of elevation gain. The area features alpine meadows, creeks, and access to Phelps Basin and Spider Gap. Pit toilets are available near campsites, which are across Phelps Creek (may require a thigh-deep ford early season). No vehicle access to campsites; hike-in only. Northwest Forest Pass required for parking at trailhead. Additional Info: - Campsites in the meadow and Phelps Basin suitable for overnight backpacking. - Trail involves creek crossings without bridges and potential downed trees.
