Specimen Creek Junction (SPC029) is a designated backcountry campsite along the Specimen Creek Trail in Yellowstone National Park's northwest Gallatin area. Accessed via hiking from the Specimen Creek Trailhead on US Highway 191. Permit required for overnight camping. Food storage pole available. Grizzly bear country; hike in groups of 3 or more. Additional Info: Remote site in burned forest and meadows near North Fork Specimen Creek junction. Part of multi-day backpacking routes to Shelf Lake and Sky Rim Trail.
