Southside Campground

A developed campground with the following attractions: hiking, fishing and boating. At Lake Isabel, non-motorized boating, and fishing. St Charles Creek is close to the campground and may be fished. Access to motorized and non-motorized trails including Cisneros, St. Charles, and Snowslide.All dates are weather dependent. Dates of operation below are dates visitors may expect full service. The area also has an extended season when services such as water, trash or a host may not be available between May 7, 2021 and October 11, 2021. Additional Info: Southside Campground is a small RV facility situated in the Wet Mountains at 8,600 feet elevation within the Lake Isabel Recreation Area of San Isabel National Forest. The campground features 8 pull-through RV sites shaded by aspen and ponderosa pine trees with paved roads throughout. All sites are pull-through with no backing required. The facility is designed for RVs less than 30 feet in length with no large slide-outs and requires no hookups. Tent camping is permitted but the facility is not ideal for tents. Lake Isabel is a 40-acre impoundment built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930s and is stocked with trout. Amenities include campfire grills, vault toilets, drinking water, and picnic tables. The campground typically operates from late May or early June through September or October, weather dependent. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov.
