Free, BLM-managed dispersed camping in the Soldier Meadows Hot Springs Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) in Nevada's remote Black Rock Desert. Seven defined campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, including five sites in the Hot Creek Campground area, one at the Cabin Site, and one above Hidden Spring. Facilities include primitive campsites with parking areas and fire pits, a vault toilet, and a free public cabin with wood burning stove available first-come, first-served. Located approximately 50 miles north of Gerlach via dirt road Country Road 34 N. The area is home to rare wildlife, plants, and cultural resources. Campfires must be restricted to existing fire rings. Leave No Trace ethics required.
