Snake Creek Primitive Campgrounds is a free, first-come, first-served dispersed camping area located on the southeastern side of Great Basin National Park near Baker, Nevada. The campground features 12 designated campsites distributed among several named locations: Monkey Rock, Squirrel Springs, Pinnacles, Eagle Peak, and two trail sites (Shoshone and Johnson Lake) that require a short 0.5-mile hike from the parking lot at the end of Snake Creek Road. Sites are nestled among scenic aspen groves with dramatic limestone cliffs as a backdrop. High clearance vehicles are recommended for the rough, dirt roads. RVs and trailers are not recommended. Each campsite can accommodate up to 8 people, 3 tents, and 2 vehicles. Amenities include vault toilets (seasonal) and fire rings at each site, but no water is available. Cell service is not available in the area. Maximum continuous stay is 14 days. The campground typically operates May through October.
