Slate Creek Campground

Slate Creek Campground is a primitive, first-come, first-served campground located in the Bitterroot National Forest near Darby, Montana, at an elevation of approximately 4,500-4,787 feet. The campground encompasses 6 acres on the east side of Painted Rocks Reservoir and features 13 campsites arranged in two loops: a front loop with 4 sites and a back loop with 9 sites. All sites are walk-up and accessible year-round via paved West Fork Road (approximately 23.6 miles south of Darby). Amenities include vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. There is no potable drinking water, showers, or hookups. The campground is pack-it-in, pack-it-out. Pets are allowed. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
