Sixes River Campground

Sixes River Campground offers 19 campsites tucked into a forested hideaway along the Sixes River. It's an excellent destination for picnicking, swimming, and wildlife viewing. Popular activities at the campground include camping, fishing, sightseeing, gold panning, and water play. Sixes River Campground is shaded by towering big-leaf maple, oak, and Douglas-fir trees that provide abundant cover throughout the campground. The campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day through September 30. There are no electrical, water, or sewer hook-ups. Dogs must be on a 6-foot leash at all times. Additional Info: The site began as a 19th century gold mining camp and is still frequented by gold-panners. Nearby attractions include Cape Blanco Lighthouse, New River Nature Center, and several coastal beaches.
