About this site

Sixes River Campground offers 19 campsites tucked into a forested hideaway along the Sixes River. It's an excellent destination for picnicking, swimming, and wildlife viewing. Popular activities at the campground include camping, fishing, sightseeing, gold panning, and water play. Sixes River Campground is shaded by towering big-leaf maple, oak, and Douglas-fir trees that provide abundant cover throughout the campground. The campground is open from Memorial Day to September 30th each year and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no electrical, water, or sewer hookups. Dogs must be on a 6-foot leash at all times. Poison oak is common in the campground; look for and avoid the distinctive, glossy leaves with three leaflets. Additional Info: Nearby attractions include Cape Blanco Lighthouse, New River Nature Center, and several coastal beaches. The campground is located approximately 5 miles north of Port Orford, Oregon via U.S. 101, then 11 miles inland on Sixes River Road.
