Showers Lake is a scenic alpine lake in Eldorado National Forest, accessible by an easy 2-mile hike from Schneider Cow Camp off Highway 88 near Caples Lake and Kirkwood, CA. The trail features 800-900 ft elevation gain through pine forest and aspen groves, connecting to the Pacific Crest Trail. Dispersed camping is allowed in the area around the lake. No permit required. Snow may be present in winter; SNO-Park pass potentially needed for access road.
