Shoepac Lake State Forest Campground

Shoepac Lake State Forest Campground is a rustic campground located on Shoepac Lake (52 acres), a prime spot for fishing and paddling. The campground offers 25 sites for tents and trailers (all sizes), with an undeveloped boat launch for paddlers. An undeveloped, carry-in boat launch is located on Shoepac Lake off the road, 200 yards past the campground entrance, with no-wake rules in effect. Explore nearby limestone sinkholes via the Sinkhole Pathway, or enjoy 70 miles of trails on the High Country Pathway. The area is known for excellent hunting and fishing, with abundant wildlife. ORVs are not allowed in this campground. The campground is located 12 miles southeast of Onaway via M-33 South and Tomahawk Lake Highway. Additional Info: No reservations; sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Vault toilets and potable drinking water from hand-pump well. No electrical available. Overnight fees ($20 for most sites) and registration procedures are posted at the information kiosk. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. One camping unit and six people are allowed per site. Recreation Passport required for vehicle entry.
