Shields River Dispersed Site is a primitive, no-fee, first-come-first-served campground with 6 campsites along the Shields River in Custer Gallatin National Forest. Maximum vehicle length is 22 feet. Vault toilets are available. No potable water, trash pickup, or firewood. Pack-in/pack-out. Pets allowed on leash. Open approximately 6/16 to 12/1, weather dependent. Excellent fishing access. Additional Info: Located 24 miles northeast of Wilsall on Shields River Rd. Call for road conditions when wet.
