About this site
A primitive, non-developed 6-site camping area on the Shields River in the Custer Gallatin National Forest. No fees or reservations required. Maximum RV length is 22 feet. Vault toilets available. Excellent fishing for whitefish and Yellowstone cutthroat trout. Pack-in/pack-out area with no potable water. Pets allowed but must be leashed. Open seasonally 6/16–12/1 depending on weather and road conditions. Located 24 miles northeast of Wilsall on Shields River Road.
