Shields River Campground
About this site
Shields River Campground is a primitive, non-developed site with 6 campsites along the Shields River in the West Crazy Mountains on the Yellowstone District of Custer Gallatin National Forest. It is free, first-come first-served with no reservations. Maximum vehicle length is 22 feet. Vault toilets are available. No potable water, trash pickup, or firewood. Pack-in pack-out. Excellent fishing in the Shields River. Road conditions may be challenging when wet; call ranger district for updates. Open approximately June 16 to December 1, weather dependent.
