Shelter #5 (Greenbush Kettle) is the northern-most backpack shelter in Kettle Moraine State Forest Northern Unit, just south of Greenbush village. It is a 0.3 mile hike from the Shelter #5 parking lot on Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive. The shelter has a dirt floor with sleeping benches on three sides and is set in a maple forest. A hand pump for drinking water is a short distance from the parking lot. A camping permit is required; reserve through Wisconsin State Park system. Additional Info: Year-round rustic backpack shelter along Ice Age National Scenic Trail with fire ring and pit toilet. All refuse must be packed out. No vehicle access.
