Schumaker Campground
About this site
Schumaker Campground sits on the edge of Twin Lakes near the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness. It features 16 campsites, two vault toilets and two handicap accessible sites. It is located near the Twin Lakes Trailhead. Maximum vehicle length 55'. Non-Peak Season: Weather Dependent (FS429 Road closed to wheeled motorized vehicles from Dec 1 to June 16). All sites are first come/first served. Motorized boats are prohibited on Twin Lakes. FS road 429 (Lost Horse Road) is narrow, rough, and fairly steep in some places. Please call the Darby Ranger Station for more information about road conditions. Open yearlong until closed by snow. Open 24 hours/day. Camping is limited to 16 consecutive days. Quiet hours: 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Pets must be leashed. No garbage service, pack it in/pack it out. No Fees are required for this site. No fee charged. Pets must be leashed. Restrooms are available at this site.
