Schoolcraft State Park

Schoolcraft State Park Campground is a rustic 225-acre park located along the Mississippi River in Minnesota's North Woods, approximately 15 miles west of Grand Rapids. The campground features 28-29 campsites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs up to 40 feet in length. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grate. Amenities include potable drinking water, vault toilets, boat access/ramp, and a picnic area. The park is named after explorer Henry Schoolcraft and features virgin pine forest with interpretive trails, including white pines more than 300 years old. Popular activities include fishing, kayaking, hiking, wildlife viewing, and canoeing. The campground operates seasonally from mid-May through early September. Group camping is available for up to 50 people. A Minnesota State Park vehicle permit is required for entry.
