About this site

Also known as "Chamber Park", this is the parking lot for a small stretch of beach. The lot is owned by the County of Matagorda, while the beach adjacent to it is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers. The parking lot offers a restroom along with picnic tables and trash cans. Additional Info: This was originally named “Chamber Park” because it had been owned by the Sargent Area Chamber of Commerce, who then gifted it to the County of Matagorda in 2000, who then renamed it to “Sargent Beach Park”. As far as we could tell, there is no limit on how long you can stay, and we never encountered law enforcement checking on permits.
