Santa Rosa Yellow Post Site #3 is one of 14 remote camping sites scattered across the high ridges of Santa Rosa Mountain in San Bernardino National Forest, near Palm Desert, California. This site is part of the Santa Rosa Yellow Post Sites complex managed by the San Jacinto Ranger District and is accessible via Forest Road 7S02 (Santa Rosa Truck Trail), an unpaved road requiring high-clearance vehicles. Each site features a fire ring and picnic table. Site #3 is one of only two sites with water availability (Santa Rosa Spring). The site accommodates a maximum of 8 persons and 2 vehicles. Camping is first-come, first-served with a 14-day limit per 30-day period. Campfire permits are required for any type of fire use. Trash services are not provided; pack out all waste. The terrain consists of forested areas at approximately 7,215 feet elevation with scenic views. Nearby attractions include the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument and the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens.
