Nice & clean campground with both hookups & dispersed camping. Decent space between campsites. Hike/Bike trail (2 miles) from campground to World Famous Surf spot TRESTLES! It is right next to Camp Pendleton so you may hear practice artillery fire now and then. Might scare the puppers! Our dog was fine. Easy access to groceries & food, gas, propane. They have full service dump station ($10). They do have a couple of Coyote packs roaming around, keep dogs on leash (required anyway). Just keep an eye out. Same day reservations or book out 6 months in advance. Each site has a fire ring & table. Not sure about price of FHU, $45 for dispersed & tent. We have a Handicap placard, so $22.50 night! Must show placard or plate. 1 (800) 444-7275 Reserve California This campground is called.. San Onofre State Park/San Mateo Campground when booking.
