San Elijo State Beach
About this site
San Elijo State Beach Campground is located on the San Diego Coast in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, providing one of Southern California's premier coastal camping experiences. The campground sits atop scenic bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, offering approximately 165 campsites with a mix of RV hookup sites and standard non-hookup sites. Sites feature tables and have access to flush restrooms with showers, though sites themselves offer limited shade. The beach below is accessible via stairs from the campground and is popular for swimming, surfing, boogie-boarding, and skim-boarding. A nearby reef attracts snorkelers and divers. The narrow stretch of sand extends along Coast Highway 101 for about three-quarters of a mile north from San Elijo Lagoon's entrance channel. Approximately one-third of campsites have unobstructed ocean views. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers, amphitheater, trash collection, a dump station, and a 'doggie beach'. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grill. Restaurants, shops and convenience stores are within walking distance of the campground. Additional Info: RV sites with hookups accommodate rigs up to 24 feet, while non-hookup sites can handle up to 35 feet. There are 26 campsites with full hookups. Reservations are available on a rolling basis six months in advance through ReserveCalifornia. Check-in time is 2:00 PM with no early check-in available. The campground is open year-round.

Nice if you are on the ocean side of the campground, loud if you are near the road (PCH). Great surf out front and fun local doors to grab. Encinitas close by
