Sully Creek State Park, now renamed Rough Rider State Park, is located in the heart of the North Dakota Badlands, just minutes from Medora and Theodore Roosevelt National Park. This seasonal park offers a quiet escape with 9 modern campsites (electricity & water), 7 modern equestrian campsites (electricity, water, and corral access), 14 primitive campsites, and 10 modern group equestrian campsites (electricity, water, corral access, multiple units per site). It features three areas: Whitetail Flats (electric hookups, spacious field sites), Little Muddy Breaks (horse camping with electric and stalls), and Cedar (dry camping in wooded setting with 10-foot height restriction). Amenities include showers, vault toilets, laundry, pet-friendly sites, tenting, trash pickup, and water access.
