Rosita Flats OHV Area

Rosita Flats OHV Area is a primitive dispersed camping area covering approximately 1,740 acres in the southern section of Lake Meredith National Recreation Area along the Canadian River in the Texas Panhandle. It offers 75 first-come, first-served sites with no reservations required. The area is designated for off-road vehicle use with wide trails featuring sand, whoops, and occasional water crossings. ORV operators must obtain a free NPS permit, Texas OHV decal, and DOT-approved safety gear. Accessible via unpaved roads off US 287; can accommodate trailers and RVs at several sites depending on conditions. Facilities are minimal: trash collection available, campfires in existing rings/grills only. No toilets, water, or showers; pack in/pack out required. Open year-round. Additional Info: One of two designated ORV areas (with Blue Creek); also open to horseback riding.
