A campground located in the Slim Buttes Unit near the Castles National Natural Landmark, one of two on the Sioux Ranger District. The campground is directly off of HWY 20, 20 miles south and east of Buffalo. Spectacularly eroded steep-walled buttes. Additional Info: 8 primitive campsites, first-come first-served, year-round access with Forest Service maintenance mid-May through September. 14-day stay limit. Vault toilets (ADA accessible), picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. No water, trash service, or firewood provided. Pack out all trash.
