Refugio State Beach offers 67 standard campsites, 3 group sites, and hike-and-bike camping. Standard campsites accommodate tents, motorhomes, and trailers up to 30 feet with no hookups, fire pit, and picnic table. Eight people maximum per standard campsite. Reservations available April 1 to November 30 via ReserveCalifornia.com or 1-800-444-7275; winter walk-in only. Dogs allowed in campground but not on beach or in buildings. Facilities include flush toilets, showers, store, campfire center, basketball court, swing set, and grassy picnic area. Additional Info: Palm trees near Refugio Creek provide a distinctive tropical look. Beach activities include coastal fishing, kayaking, surfing, swimming, hiking, and biking on the California Coastal Trail. Lifeguards patrol year-round.
